Group Leader

Interested in Leading a Community Group?

Community Group leaders play a crucial role in the life of our church. They are on the front lines of ministry impacting the community and beyond with the transformational love of Jesus. They are shepherds to the groups they lead, cultivating and creating environments of spiritual growth and moblizing members to a lifestyle of serving others. Contact your Campus Lead below.

FAQ

Yes, you will need to first complete Starting Point, complete Rooted or plan to within a year, meet with the Adult Ministry Pastor to discuss responsibilities and complete a background check.

We take leading a group at Compass very seriously. You are entrusted with the great responsibility of caring for our people, ministering to their individual next faith steps, and ultimately building disciples, which helps grow you, them, and Compass.

We encourage you to lead a group that you yourself are interested in. If you want to be apart of Softball team or meet with mom’s going through the same season as you...start that group!

Community groups at Compass are divided into three seasons: fall, winter/spring, and summer. Fall and winter/spring seasons are around 12 weeks starting the first of September and the first of February. Summer season we suggest at least meeting once a month for a social event or serve project.

An interest based group is a community group that is based off an interest, sport, or activity. Example groups are hiking, softball, running and so forth.

In-person leader training takes place twice a year in January and August. Leader training videos are available online year-round.

Group are listed on our website year around and several times a year groups will be promoted on the stage and in the lobby. Most campuses will also have a group table, wall, or booth that is up throughout the year to help direct people to community.
