What is Stephen Ministry?
Stephen Ministry is the one-to-one care ministry implemented by Compass from the Stephen Series system. Stephen Series is the overall ministry system—including training, resources, structure, and ongoing support—used by Compass and other churches to equip and empower a team of laypeople to provide one-to-one Christian care to hurting people in and around Compass.
What are the Requirements and Process to Become a Stephen Minister?

Application Form
Complete an interview with Compass Stephen Ministry Leaders
Purchase training materials: $75
What are the Commitments to be a Stephen Minister?
Attend 20 weekly training sessions on Thursdays with no more than three absences.
Upon training completion, the Stephen Minister is commissioned by Compass and agrees to serve at least two years.
Attend continuing education and supervision meetings on first and third Thursdays of every month.
How Can I Request a Stephen Minister?

Confidential Referral and Agreement Form
A Stephen Ministry Coordinator will contact you to begin the assignment process, which may take a few days.
The assigned Stephen Minister will contact you to arrange the first visit and setup the weekly one-hour face-to-face meetings. This relationship is confidential and will continue as long as it is needed.
