Baby Dedication

If you have a child age two or younger, we invite you to participate in our upcoming Baby Dedication on May 13, 2021. During the Thursday night service, parents have the opportunity to make a public commitment before God, their church, and their family to raise their child in a Christ-centered home.

Commitments are done in a public setting at the beginning of the Thursday night church service to acknowledge the importance of being accountable to other Christians.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Who may dedicate a child? Anyone who is making the choice to commit their life to modeling the ways of Jesus and the Bible to their child, or children, is welcome. If you are the only parent who is a follower of Christ, or you are a single parent, we welcome you to be part of a baby dedication celebration.

What does Compass Christian Church believe about baby dedication and salvation? Baby Dedication does not impart grace or salvation to a child. Salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ as each person recognizes their sinfulness and receives forgiveness and eternal life through Christ and His sacrifice.

Can unmarried parents participate in a family dedication service? We believe that God’s Word teaches that parents who are living together should do so in a covenant marriage relationship. If this is not your situation, please set up a time to visit with one of our pastors.

At what age can a child take part in the baby dedication celebration? We do not have a set age requirement for baby dedication. The average age for a child to be dedicated is four months up to two years.
