How to Help Someone Going Through Burnout
Jan. 18, 2024
People in burnout need support around them who will defend them. Below are some ways to support those experiencing burnout:
Be an interceptor of energy vampires.
•Intercept people who steal their energy, drain their time, keep them focused on darkness, ask too much of them, etc.
Remind them of the good things happening.
•Don't tell them good things WILL happen because they may feel the pressure to make these things happen, leading them further down the path of burnout.
Bring happy and light people around them.
• Surround them with people who are happy and upbeat.
• Be careful not to let yourself get bogged down with darkness.
• Let them know your unwavering support is here, no matter how much they withdraw or become angry.
Guard their sabbath days.
• Protect their days of rest from work, family, and friends.
• Guard their day of rest even from themselves.
Pray for them.
• Don't tell them all the details of your prayer because they could fear becoming a burden and try to discourage the prayer or sink further into darkness because of shame.
